Lambs On The Way!

   Sorry it has taken me so long to post! Time has been zipping away. But away, time for an update! I put Three Creeks Tank in with my ewes. I was going to hold off on the yearlings, but I decided to breed them as well. Tank showed immediate interest in Budgie. If anyone has a fine fleeced polled or scurred ram they are wanting to sell or trade let me know. Tank will be available middle of Nov. Don't be shy about any offers:-) I would like for the ram to be proven. I am hoping Moss Rose gives me either a kat or a gullie ram. She is my best fleeced ewe, and a ram from her would greatly improve my herd. However, I will take whatever she gives me. Lambing is my favorite time of the year!

Four Fewer?

   I was able to sell four of my Shetlands, my two ram lambs from this spring, Martina and Alberta, a couple of my ewes. I hadn't planned on selling Alberta, and I had Martina listed for sale, but I really didn't need to sell either them. But, these were the two I was willing to let go. This leaves me with nine sheep, eight ewes and a ram... four fewer.    Since I am selling Pete Moss, I will be breeding Davina to Tank. This will probably be the last lambing season I will keep Davina, I will most likely sell her after she lambs. She is getting up in age , and she isn't my finest fleeced ewe. She isn't old, but she is getting there. I have also entertained the idea of selling Tank after this coming spring. If I were to get a Gullie ewe from him out of Moss Rose, I would be more than happy to sell him. I would hope for a Gullie from Moss Rose, and not my other ewes, as she is my best fleeced mature ewe.    It sure seems li...

Updated Sales (Oct. 21, 2013)

I have decided to sell my current ram and one of my ewes, Davina. LostLakeFarm Davina Fletcher Magnolia x BluffCountry Cappucino Moorit. Born in 2006. She is currently being exposed to Three Creeks Tank. Great mother, no problems lambing since I've owned her. Sold as is (No promises that she is bred, but she has been exposed to ram) Will be ready to go middle of Novemer.  $100 Three Creeks Tank-- BEAUTIFUL dark brown scurred gulmoget ram lamb. He is by Caulfield Horatio out of Three Creeks Sinead. He has what I believe to be an intermediate fleece.  Tank will be ready to sell by the middle of November. I'm asking  $75  for him.  If you are interested in the pair, I will sell them for  $150.  Davina is not related to Tank, but the lambs that she will be having in the spring are. And Where Has it Gone?

   I'm sorry for not posting sooner, life gets hectic, especially when you have the responsibilities of a farm. The lambs are growing at a rapid pace. They look marvelous! Daisy is probably my favorite ewe as far as fleeces go. I am definitely keeping her!    Someone had called and placed a deposit on Albert, one of the ram lambs I have for sale. Unfortunately, he had to cancel the purchase due to family issues. If they do not sell I will be forced to take them to the auction. There is nothing wrong with taking an animal to an auction, but male animals normally go to slaughter. Both of these rams have the potential to be great flock sires. However, there is always something better that comes along and there isn't a home for every cute ram out there.    I have also placed one of my ewe lambs, Martina, for sale.
